MURPHYSBORO – Alfreda M. Alstat, 97, of Murphysboro, IL, passed away Saturday, August 6, 2022, at her home in Murphysboro, Illinois.

Alfreda was born May 18, 1925, in Foley, MO, to Efton and Lora (Calvin) Mozier. Alfreda was a homemaker. She married Purle E. Alstat on July 7, 1947, at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Ava, IL. He preceded her in death on March 21, 2012.

Alfreda is survived by her sons: Purle D. "Butch" (Cathy) Alstat of Vergennes, IL, Teddy J. Alstat of Arnold, MO, Daniel T. (Debbie) Alstat of Murphysboro, IL; daughters: Pat Gott of Vienna, IL, Aleta (Terry) Riebling of Prairie du Rocher, IL, Debbie (KR) Sullivan of Vergennes, IL, Charletta (Jeff) Doerr of Vergennes, IL, Judy (David) Jones of Vergennes, IL; seventeen grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren, sister, Doris Melichar of St. Louis, MO, sister-in-law, Iris Mozier of Troy, MO, and son-in-law, James Kerley of Vergennes, IL.

Alfreda is also preceded in death by her parents, one infant son, Murle Alstat, one daughter, Starletta Kerley, son-in-law, Robert Gott, five brothers and one sister.

Private graveside services will be held at Ava Evergreen Cemetery, Ava, IL, with Rev. Bob Spangler officiating.
