STEELEVILLE – Albert F. "Mousie" Mevert, 91, of Steeleville passed away at 6:55 PM, Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at his home.
Albert was born on May 16, 1928, in Steeleville the son of Hugo J. and Emma (Mueller) Mevert. Albert was confirmed at the St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Steeleville. He was in the U.S. Army Air Force during WWII, and then he married Annabelle Bierman, on December 20, 1947, in Steeleville and they shared 72 years of marriage. Albert was a retied coal miner from the Captain Mine. Mousie was a member of the Peace Lutheran Church, Steeleville, B.B.K. American Legion Post #480 of Steeleville, U.M.W of A Local #1392.
Albert is survived by his wife; Annabelle Mevert, of Steeleville, sons; Thomas (Doris) Mevert, of Percy, James (Deb) Mevert, of Steeleville, 7 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister; Dorothy Koeneman Brown, of Swensea, Illinois.
Mr. Mevert was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sons; David Mevert, Steven Mevert, and 1 grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, March 7, 2020, at the Peace Lutheran Church, Steeleville with Minister Deb Rathert and Julie Posth, officiating, burial will follow at the Peace Lutheran Cemetery, Steeleville. Visitation will be held on Friday evening at the church where friends may call from 5 to 8 PM, and then on Saturday from 9 to 11 AM. Memorials may be made to Peace Lutheran Memorial Fund, or Steeleville Senior Site. Wilson's Funeral Home in Steeleville is assisting the family with the arrangements.
