CAMPBELL HILL – Albert H. Froemling, 102, passed away at 12:00 pm, Monday, May 2, 2016 at Manor Court in Carbondale, Illinois.
Albert was born in Ava, Illinois, on March 21, 1914, the son of William and Louise Vogt Froemling. He married Mabel C. Nagel on November 1, 1947 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Campbell Hill. She preceded in him in death on February 27, 2000. He was a retired Farmer, Auctioneer, Livestock-Seed Corn Salesman, and Trico School Bus Driver. Albert was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Campbell Hill; St. Luke's Lutheran Brotherhood; a former member of St. Luke's Church Council; and a former Director of Randolph Mutual Insurance Company.
Albert is survived by one daughter, Nancy (Jim) Powles of Ava; one son, Leland (Barbara) Froemling of Ava; two grandchildren, Stacy (Brett) Bess and Ryan (Jill) Powles; and three great grandchildren, Bradyn Bess and Jack and Max Powles.
Albert was also preceded in death by his Parents; six sisters, Anna Foremling, Emma Young, Frieda Homan, Rosie Lange, Lena Reuscher and Ida Lange; and two brothers, Herman Froemling and Louis Froemling.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, May 6, 2016 at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Campbell Hill with Rev. Matt Kamprath officiating. Burial will follow in St. Luke's Lutheran Cemetery, Campbell Hill. Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava, where friends may call from 5 pm until 8 pm Thursday and on Friday from 7:30 am until 9 am then from 10 am until 11 am at the church. Memorials may be given to St. Luke's Lutheran Church Building Fund, St. Luke's Cemetery Fund or Celtic Hospice.
